Journey to the Reghed Glacier – a frozen city lies beneath the Reghed Glacier which holds the key to ending the everlasting night.
D’zaan, the ooze-man – Episode 32 – Dzaan has once again been restored by combining the properties on a mysterious altar and a sliver of chardalynne Episode 30 – Dzaan comes up again as the one person who may know the location of the way to Ythrn. Though there are likely other ways to find this information, Dzaan could be the surest and fastest if he is still alive. Episode 15 – D’zaan’s days as a real boy were short lived, when the magic that held him together faded and he was reduced to an acidic ooze. Krintas has taken the ooze somewhere, and D’zaan’s spellbook has been recovered from Easthaven by our heroes.
Klondorn’s request – Episode 30 – Our Heroes have recovered the Codicile, and simply need to keep it out of Avarice’s hands. Episode 26 – A guard named LornnDolk pointed Vellyne to our heroes with some strangely specific information. Yrso has her suspicions about this strange coincidence. Episode 25 – The Duergar Priest Klondorn asked our heroes to prevent Avarice from obtaining the Codicile of White. He says she can use it for other purposes aside from opening the way to Ythrn. He specifically mentioned that she’d find a use as a follower of Levistus, and asked our heroes to connect the dots and do the right thing.
The Wyrmdoom Crag – wandering goliaths searching for Angajuk’s bell invited our heroes to their remote home in the spine of the world.
The Albino Tielfing – (Episode 25) – The Duergar Priest Klondorn asked our heroes to prevent Avarice from obtaining the Codicile of White. He says she can use it for other purposes aside from opening the way to Ythrn. He specifically mentioned that she’d find a use as a follower of Levistus, and asked our heroes to connect the dots and do the right thing. (episode 22) – For some reason, Avarice has been targetted by the Duergar of Sunblight. (Episode 20) – Avarice seems to have taken notice of our heroes. She was willing to confront them in order for them to halt their incursions into the wilderness of icewind dale. (Episode 13) This Tiefling was met in the cistern of Caer Dineval. Although not affiliated with the Knights of the Black Sword, Levistus had ordered the cult to supply her with a secure place to work. She disappeared during the routing of the cult, but left behind crumpled notes indicating that she was searching for the Codicil of White. She noted the mysterious Grimskalle as a possible location for the holy text.
Arveraturice – The ancient white dragon lairs in the scuttled Dark Duchess. Her hoard remains for those brave or foolhardy enough to claim it.
BlueMoon’s legacy – Bluemoon’s log described a halfling passenger he hoped to turn in to Revel’s End for a bounty. He also wrote about a sick prisoner in the same prison they hoped transport back to the Sword Coast. Finally, he described the whale Angajuk, and hoped to poach the creature for meat and aubergine. Captain Bluemoon held his ship’s log in his dead fingers. What clues could it hold to the fate of the rest of the crew, mysteriously absent from the ship? Why had he come to Icewind Dale in the first place?
Mysterious Compass – It turned out that the compass points to a Shield Guardian located far to the southwest in the spine of the world. (Session 15) – Desperate for our heroes assistance, Dzaan offered a mysterious magical compass. He’s unsure of its function.
Arcane Brotherhood – Episode 26 – Vellyne appears to be in this for the right reasons – Pretsige and knowledge. Avarice has struck out on her own, to find the Codicile of White before the others, and use it to free her Infernal master Levistus. (Episode 15) Vellyne, Dzaan, Nass and Avarice have been identified as members of the Arcane Brotherhood. (Episode 6) Duvessa Shayne, the speaker of Brynn Shander is worried that a prisoner named Vaelish Gant held at Revel’s end could be a member of a conspiracy to once again conquer the ten towns in the name of the Arcane Brotherhood. She knows the arcane brotherhood is active in the ten towns, but why?
Auril problem – Auril has cursed the entire Icewind Dale area with eternal night. As temperatures drop the area becomes more and more inhospitable. There must be some way to stop her. – Episode 17 – Our Heores have incurred the notice of Auril after defying her eternal night. If they didn’t have a reason to stop her before, they may now. Episode 30 – Auril has chased our heroes from her island. It’s only a matter of time before she she discovers they have the Codicile of White.
Resolved (or are they?)
- Revel’s End – Vaelish Gant couldn’t offer a lot of information before he was revealed as a Slaad Host. The erupting slaad tadpole was fatal to Vaelish, and our heroes tracked down and destroyed fully grown Slaad. Duvessa Shayne was aware of the Arcane Brotherhood’s renewed presence in the Ten Towns, and asked our heroes to investigate. She feared evil plots and directed our heroes to Revel’s End where Vaelish Gant has been imprisoned for four years after trying to depose Duvessa and destabalize the ten towns for his own political ambitions. Although our heroes have established the current roster of Arcane Brotherhood have no such ambitions, it may still be worth paying Gant a visit. Additionally, it’s said that a large bounty is being offered for Largo Weatherbee at Revel’s End. Bluemoon’s journal described a prisoner who is ill. The staff at Revel’s End would like to transport this prisoner away from the prison to avoid infecting other prisoners and guards.
- GrimSkalle – The location of Grimskalle and the Rime of the Frostmaiden has been revealed as an island on the sea of moving ice. Knowledge of its location was granted by the Jarls of Jarlmoot and memorized in a star map by Lynnaea
- The Professor – The Professor has been recovered and Nass is dead. Nass Lantomir, a stowaway on Vellyne;s expedtion, has stolen a Professor orb with knowledge critical for finding an ancient Netherese city. Vellyne sure would like that orb back.
- Angajuk’s Bell – The bell is real and Angajuk is friendly. He was happy to transport our heroes across the sea of moving ice. A whale named Angajuk is said to be friendly to ten towners. Angajuk has a whole ship strapped to their back and can traverse the Sea of moving ice.
- Xardorok’s Legacy – The Chardalyn Dragon has been destroyed, but at the cost of Dougan’s hole, Good Mead, and Caer Dinneval. Xardorok’s construct remains at large in the ten towns. Bent on scorched earth destruction, this construct will not stop until the Ten Towns are razed to the ground.
- The Unseen – Episode 24 – Xardorok was defeated, and the remaining Duergar in Sunblight seem intent on returning home to the underdark. Episode 22 – The Duergar are dangerously close to unleashing their invasion on the ten towns. A map shows their invasion plans, Duergar have been spotted in Brynn Shander seemingly softening up the fortified city. Episode 17 – The Duegar were seen in a vision completing a chardalynne monstrosity. Hopefully, now that the sun has returned, they can be kept at bay. (Session 13) Evidently the Duergar are led by a warlord named Xardorok, who wishes to claim Icewind Dale as his own realm. (Session 12) Duergar occupying the abandoned Dinev’s rest in Caer Dineval where found and dispatched. They had few possessions, but had appeared to have been collecting Chardalyn trinkets. What were they doing there?
- Zero Rum – the proprietor of the mead hall in Good Mead has suggested a scuttled pirate ship called “The Dark Duchess” in the sea of moving ice could have supplies of rum and grog to keep the people of Good Mead’s bellies full.
- Jarlmoot – Session 19 – Jarlmoot has been found on the way to the Dark Duchess. It contained trials and a great treasure. Session 10 – A copy of Largo sang an ancient frost giant song about a place called the ‘Jarlmoot’, where the Jarl of Jarls dispenses judgement. What could it be?
- The Ten Towns Killer was Sephek, murdering those who attempted to escape the consequences of sacrificial lotteries in ten towns.
- A monster plaguing fishers in Bremen was an awakened pleisosaur, who was convinced to leave fishers alone and that her newfound intellignce was not contingent on her fullfilling the violent requests of the druid Ravisin.
- The iron shipment abandoned by the dwarves in Targos was recovered, as it was being dragged across the ice by cold and starving goblins.
- The Termalaine mine was cleared of a Grell that was hunting miners and kobolds alike. The kobolds returned to the surface to work in Termalaine
- Awakened animal antics – Ravisin has been destroyed
- Holed up – The children from Dougan’s Hole had actually fled the town and found safety with Norsue, who abandoned Auril’s way after Ravisin was slain. Our heroes were tricked by two deceitful winter wolves into attacking the mammoth. The wolves were killed, and the Yrso took the children (who did not want to return to Dougan’s hole) to places unknown – at least they will never be brought to Grimskalle.
- The Id Ascendant – After dispatching the Oblex that plagued Dougan’s Hole, our heroes gave the Psi Crystal required for the repair of the Id Ascendant back to Vorryn. He and Dredevrex now work tirelessly to repair the ship, and leave the frozen wasteland behind.
- Dougan’s Hole – The Oblex of Dougan’s Hole has been defeated, and the residents attempt to return to some sense of normalcy.
- Black Crystal Bastards – The cultists were routed and destroyed. (Episode 13) The cult welcomed our heroes as saviors in their fight against Xardorok. (Episode 11) The tieflings have been intercepted and followed to Caer Dineval, where they and others appear to have taken over the Caer itself. (Episode 1) the Bremen innkeeper’s son’s personality changed when he came into possession of a black crystal. Tieflings with similar crystals arrived in Bremen and escorted him from home while mentioning ‘a castle’.
- The Obelisk – (Episode 14) -The Obelisk turned out to be a Netherese spire, fallen from a flying city and wedged into the tundra. A Simulacrum copy of Dzaan was found inside, who had no idea of the real Dzaan’s fate. The Simulacrum wishes to make himself a real person with a strange device in the basement that trasmutes illusions into real substance. (Episode 5) Dzaan’s dying request before being burned at the stake in Easthaven was for our adventurers to visit a remote obelisk. He was not forthcoming about its nature but promised our adventurer’s would “really like it”. Vellyne is suspicioius of D’zaan’s request, but also encourages our heroes to check it out.
- The Summer Star – Dzaan revealed that he’d sent the summer star to a priest of the Morninglord for study. In Brynn Shander there is a House of the Morninglord. Priests there might know where the original Dzaan sent the summer star. A pair of ominous shadows burnt into the floor and wall were seen radiating from the location the summer star was originally recovered. (Episode 15) – Dzaan’s copy mentioned a miniature version of a mythalar sent away for study. If our heros help this copy become a real boy, he will point them in the right direction. – Episode 17 – the summer star was found and restored. Sunlight had returned to the Dale, but for how long?
