Our Heroes Descended into the Caves of Hunger.
First the animated remains of four dead Netherese attacked as flying, flaming skulls. Our heroes found in the wreckage of a sky coach the decapitated bodies of each wizard, as well as a bag of holding containing reams of ancient bank records and a Ring of the Ram.
Our Heroes then came across a feral kobold, who hissed and vanished into a nearby room. Our heroes pursued but were stymied by malicious Mephits who dropped icicles on our heroes heads.
Following that, a giant hyena sprung from a solid wall and attacked, our heroes fought back briefly before the hyena disappeared once again.
A safe place was founf in the caves where magical energy can be recovered more quickly. A corpse of a priest of Mystral lay inside, and the Professor gleefully recounted the story of Mystral’s sacrifice and reincarnation as Mystra, god of all magic.
Another room contained a ‘self guided tour of Ythrn’ whose final charge was spent to gain a glimpse of the ancient city. A creature described by Dzaan called a ‘demi lich’ put an end to that scouting, but not before Yrso could describe a map, and witness the grandness and decay of Ythrn.
The head of a golem was found next, not exactly a great conversationalist but happy to oblige our heroes with answers to simple yes or no questions. He confirmed a feral kobold had run through to the east.
To the East, our heroes entered vast cavern crawling with shadows – shadows that hungered for their souls!
