Our Heroes left Revel’s End behind after receiving a small reward for destroying the slaad – a gem capable of summoning a water elemental.
They travelled to Angajuk’s Bell, where they met a fisherman named Ernest. He looked exactly like Lorndolk which aroused suspicion, but was far friendlier and less sinister. He was happy to share stories from living rough while they waited for Angajuk. He spoke of Elk Tribe Berserkers who left their tribe to live as outcasts, attacking all who approach. The Tiger tribe launching raids on all other tribes, and The Wolf tribe who had lost thier leader.
Angajuk was relieved to see our heroes alive after being forced to leave Auril’s island. He returned their mounts which he’d been carrying for the last few weeks.
Our heroes opted to continue carrying the silver dragon egg with them waiting for it to hatch.
Then, our heroes returned to lonelywood to use the scrying mirror in the elven tomb to locate Dzaan. They met the awakened bush as well as the nameless mummy working to restore the tomb.
They also encountered Chwinga, building a minature city out of snow. when it was complete they asked our heroes to smash it with a boulder, and Yrso complied. The Chwinga gifted our heroes with snowball charms.
The scryng mirrow was used by Lynnaea to succesffully locate Dzaan. Krintas was holding the jar of ooze while a trapper wearing a raccoon hat spoke of a cave with an altar. The trapper’s manner was familiar, and sinister. he turned to the direction of the scryer and said “go east and you will find it”.
Our heroes headed east into the tundra. The were beset by berserkers, frostbitten and fanatical, they attacked without regard for themselves or anyone. When they were dispatched, one was found to be wearing a ring with a snowflake. touching the ring transported our heroes to the edge of the spine of the world, to a causeway leading to a cave whose opening was in the shape of a bear’s mouth.
our heroes entered while Vellyne tended the kobolds.
The cave contained some beast pens, a cavern for sleeping, and a meat storage cavern. It also had an icy blue altar with a blue flame that occaisonally materialized into the shape of a woman. This altar was capable of preventing death to the berserkers in the cave, which our heroes discovered when a combatant in the cave took an inhuman amount of damage from our heroes.
Our heroes also ran into Dzaan and Krintas here, hiding in the meat locker.
Two white dragons entered the fray, but were killed before they could do too much damage. They each let out a small squak when they died.
Once the dragons were killed and the berserker occupied with a snowball in the eyes, our heroes along with krintas approached the altar. Krintas ‘fooled’ the altar into restoring Dzaan by placing chardalyn into the jar of ooze. The restored Dzaan then agreed with out heroes that the altar must be destroyed. Yrso smote the altar, and the flame flickered between the image of a man and woman, before going out. Without the protection of the altar, the berserker was shredded by Largo’s cloud of daggers.
Our heroes then looted the fledging dragon’s horde, finding the priceless Robe of Stars among the refuse.
