Targos is a large city whose main industry is fishing. The city has a population of around 1000 people who live within the wooden walls in large communal housing. Very few people here enjoy private homes, and even Speaker Naerth resides in the top floor of the oldest and largest public house, The Luskan Arms.
Naerth is seldom seen without his intimidating bodyguard, a tiefling named Skath. Naerth is a populist who appeals to the town’s fishing industry at all others’ expense.
The city’s vast fishing fleet dominates Maer Dauldon, and a concerted effort has been made in recent years to monopolize fishing and devastate the cities’ rivals in Bremen, Lonelywood and Termalaine
Targos, like other large cities in Ten Towns, offers Auril live sacrifices, selected by lottery every two months, and imprisoned outside of town in suspended cages with no shelter or clothing.
Session 2 update
Triglio is the general store named after it’s proprietor, a scarecrow-like former fisherman who lost his hand in a boating accident. Triglio handles most of the town’s commercial needs including goods from other towns, clothing, sleds, and household items.
The fish market handles most grocery needs, including wholesale of knucklehead trout and freshwater mussels from Maer Dualdon.
The former speaker, Owern was pushed out of his position a few years ago by the current speaker Skaern. Owern has little interest in resuming his position, however he does remain in his apartment in the town hall and attached public house (retcon I know, sorry). Skaern prefers the top floor of the Luskan Arms as his residence, which reminds him of his former home (Luskan).
Three Flags Sailing is the popular tavern in this town, mainly patronized by fisherman who boast about their hauls or the strength and speed of their ships. The tavern is run by a gray haired widow named “Ethen”, who the fisherman know affectionately as “Ma”.
Our heroes have decided to squat in the former home of Gerbo in the Marinus Arms (Northwest corner of the map, near the waterfront and next to the town wall). The apartment is private and offers a stunning view of said wall.
