Caer Dineval is a small town located on the rocky shore of Lac Dinneshere. Visitors to Caer-Dineval are greeted by the imposing Caer itself on the hill, and the ancient ruined watchtower at the base of the climb. The town has become isolated due to relentless storms covering the trail from the eastway and ice freezing most of the lake, preventing the regularily scheduled ferry from Easthaven from operating.
The people harbour growing resentment towards the rest of the ten towns and towards the dwarves in dwarven valley – believing that they’ve been abandoned by the other towns and left to fend for themselves.
Speaker Crannoc lives within the Caer. He is currently sick and outsiders are acting as caretakers within the Caer’s walls.
Dinev’s rest is a drafty old inn near the town’s frozen harbour. The inn now stands as Caer-Dinevals greatest eyesore, abandoned when the harbour froze and becoming increasingly derelict.
The Uphill Climb is far less conveniently located at the top of the hill, but at least it remains in operation, serving stew and chowder, as well as offering rooms to travellers.
